Am I the only one out there that finds themselves looking down at their sweet bundle of joy and all of a sudden thinking “holy crap! I’m a mom…… When did this happen? How did the Universe decide I was capable of being a MOM?!” The truth is….I find I have one of these moments at least once a day and they hit me like a ton of bricks!
Oddly, these reality checks don’t occur during the hard moments. The hard moments when the baby’s crying uncontrollably or you’re changing the 100th diaper of the day while trying not to gag at the spit up covered shirt you’re wearing. They occur during the good moments. The moments when he smiles for no apparent reason or the rare moment he goes down easy for a nap. Those are the moments when I stop in my tracks and think “This is real life!”
Could these reality checks be the Universe telling me I kinda sorta don’t suck at this mom thing? Am I doing something right on this crazy journey of raising a tiny human? Is the Universe letting me know that I’m handling everything like a boss?
Eh, probably not but a girl can dream right?
I’ve officially been a mom for six months….SIX MONTHS! I still find it so hard to wrap my head around. Where did those six months go? I had all these expectations on what my life would be like if I was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom and 98% of them are still sitting on a to-do list that I’m constantly re-writing and re-prioritizing.
Six months has ever felt so short and so long all at the same time. Some days I think “Heck yeah, I got this! I could have three more!” and other days I’m barely able to brush my teeth and can’t remember how many days in a row I’ve worn the same yoga pants. Let’s not even talk about the number of dry shampoo cans I’ve gone through.
Being a wife and a mom are the only two things I’ve ever been 100% certain of and have felt born to do. But even though I truly feel that this is what I was created to do, I have no stinking clue what I’m doing! I’m figuring it out just like the rest of the world.
I’m going to mess up. I’m going to make questionable choices. I’m going to have days where you won’t be able to tell who’s crying harder, me or the baby. But no matter how long or hard the days are, I wouldn’t be on this journey if the Universe didn’t think I could handle it.
So cheers my friends! We are all on different paths but at the end of the day, none of us really know what we’re doing. So lets support each other when the “holy crap” moments happen because we’re all figuring out our life plans together!
Y’all…what did we do before subscription boxes? Seriously, I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting my subscription boxes in the mail every month. One of my favorite ones is BumpBox!
My mom ordered me a subscription to BumpBox at the beginning of my pregnancy. I had never heard of Bumpbox so when it showed up on my door step I was so excited and I realized what it was.
BumpBox is a curated subscription box that caters to you and your pregnancy. But the exciting thing is, you can continue to receive BumpBox even after you little one has arrived! Each box that I received during pregnancy was designed for the stages of pregnancy. For example, the first box I received had things to ease morning sickness but by the end of my pregnancy, I was getting foot soaks and other items to help calm your mind and body for final weeks before baby arrived.
Now, I get items that are related to Anderson’s growth and development as well as feel good items for me! This months box contained Mom feel good items! Let’s jump into this months box…
First up….Glow Organics 9 Charcoal Face and Body Mask. I’m so excited about this! I love a good mask and charcoal masks are my favorite. I can’t wait to give this a try. I’ve been sent other Glow Organics products in previous boxes and have really enjoyed them. My only complaint with Glow Organics is so superficial, I hate to even mention it but the packaging! It’s so big and bulky. Granted, you get a ton of product which is great but I have a hard time find places to store them that’s convenient so I remember to use their products.
This mask is said to be a detoxifying mask for the face and body that keeps your skin glowing! The mask contains charcoal and avocado oil that clear away impurities and also exfoliates. The Glow Organics 9 Charcoal Face and Body Mask is $24.99.
I love a good up of coffee or tea and this months box is only adding to my addiction. This month comes with Earth Mama Peaceful Mama Tea. The Peaceful Mama Tea is a chamomile and red raspberry blend that aids with stress and insomnia. I’ve had the Earth Mama Milk Maid Tea and really liked it so I’m excited to try this one….especially since… the next item was….
Bumplife “Tired As A Mother” Mug! This mug is ADORABLE and I immediately rinsed it out and used it! It’s actually smaller size mug than I’m used to but I found that I really enjoyed the size of it. I was able to brew 8oz of coffee comfortably and still have enough room for my splash of creamer and almond milk. I foresee this mug and I becoming good friends. ❤️
Earth Mama Peaceful Mama Tea is $5.99
The Bumplife mug is $9.99, however, I’ve searched the internet and can’t find this exact mug 🙁 but I have linked to Bumplife’s website. They have lots of fun pregnancy products to check out!
Who doesn’t love a good candle? I do that’s for sure! I can’t get enough candles so when I saw No. 6 Soy Candle I did a happy dance. It’s in the scent lavender which means it will be finding a home in my bathroom. Lavender is my favorite sent to burn when I’m able to take a relaxing bath.
Again, I couldn’t find a link for the exact candle provided in the box but I have linked to the parent company for the brand.
I was intrigued when I saw the Berkley Spray in the box and reached for it first. It’s a idea neutralizing spray that’s organic and safe to use around baby! It comes with a spritzer and I immediately screwed it in and went to the nursery! I sprayed down the crib and the bathroom and I have to say, this stuff really works! It doesn’t have an odor itself but it did completely take away and odors that were in Anderson’s room! Can I buy this stuff in bulk?! I want to have a bottle in every room!
Berkley Spray is $7.99
The last main item in the box this month are Bumplife Hair Ties! I LOVE these kinds of hair ties and you won’t find me without one these days. Again, sadly, I couldn’t find the exact ones I received but I’ve linked to a great alternative from Amazon.
The last couple items that were in this months BumpBox are considered bonus items! Usually, BumpBox includes coupon codes or discounts for other items and this month was no different 🙂 This month included a $10 off and $40 purchase with Glow Organics as well as a code for a free gift with Parabo Press. The last bonus item was a Laughing Giraffe Snackaroon. I had actually tried these before so it was a fun surprise to see! Laughing Giraffe is an organic, plant based, gluten-free, all natural snack company with lots of different products. And they are DELICIOUS! They are a great healthy snack.
Overall, I’m so happy with the month’s box and ready to dig into these products! Keep checking back to see updates for how these products worked out!

Ok people, if you aren’t on the beauty subscription bandwagon you need to be! Beauty subscriptions have helped me build a make up collection, try out new products, and keep me from having to buy a ton of new products. For $10.00/month, I get to test out skin care, make up, make up tools, and have a stock pile of mini bags for traveling!
Like most subscription services, you complete a questionnaire to determine your beauty profile and then a bag is curated specifically for you each month. At any time, you can go in and adjust your preferences. You can also review each product to adjust what types of products you receive.
Here are my thoughts on December’s Bag….
First of all, the bag itself might be one of my favorites! The blue-silver sparkle is not only perfect for the holidays but just plain pretty! I will happily carry this in my purse (AKA diaper bag) anytime of the year.
The first product received is The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Cream from TonyMoly. I wasn’t familiar with this brand so I did a little research. TonyMoly is a Korean based beauty company that was one of the trailblazers in the Korean beauty trend. They have a wide range of products from skincare to make up to body products. TonyMoly also has a great variety of products that range from just a few dollars to around the $50.00 range.
The Chok Chok Green Tea Water Cream is a daily moisturizer that is describes as “…a protective layer over your skin to help shield it from pollution, free radicals, and other skin-damaging elements.” Sounds like everything I’ve ever dreamed of!!
I’ll have to test this out for a while to see how I really feel but here are my initial thoughts. The consistency is very nice! It’s creamy consistency without feeling heavy, dries very quickly, and is not heavily scented. I’m excited to work this into my skincare routine. Stay tuned for my thoughts in a later post!
Initial impression: Super Excited to try!
The Chok Chok Green Tea Water Cream is $25.00.
Next up is the City Color Cosmetics shimmer shadow in the shade It’s A Girl. There were two shade options that I could have received. It’s a Girl is described as a metallic plum while All Eyes On Me is a smoky mauve. I’ve used City Color Cosmetics before and I was happy to receive either one of these colors as they weren’t colors I would typically purchase on my own.
So first of all, the size of the product is HUGE! You get a ton a shadow to work with and the packaging is nice and sturdy. The color isn’t probably isn’t something that I would have picked for myself but I’m excited to try something new. The pigmentation is really beautiful. It’s a metallic shadow without being overly shiny and is very wearable when swatched however, the consistency is pretty dry and chalky. I’ll definitely have to play around with this to determine the quality and bendability of the shadow.
Initial impression: Meh…We’ll see
City Color Cosmetics Shimmer Shadows are $3.99 and come in 24 different colors!
This girl loves a good mascara and I was so excited to try this one! It’s the MAC Cosmetics In Extreme Dimension 3D Lash Mascara in Black Extreme. Believe it or not but I don’t have any MAC Cosmetics! I’ve used MAC before but have never purchased any of my own so I was excited to add this to my collection and test it out. This mascara is a whipped formula that is supposed to give volume, curl, and lengthen but not clump…sounds like the holy grail of mascaras to me! It also says that you can use an angled brush and use this mascara in place of liquid liner. Hmmm…liquid liner is usually not my thing but I might give it a shot.
I have to say, I love the packaging of the sample size! I’ve looked up the full size product and it comes as your standard mascara tube but the sample comes as a squeeze tube which I just think is so clever! I’m picky when it comes to the wand on a mascara and this one doesn’t look like it will disappoint. And the name Black Extreme does the color of the mascara justice! It’s one of the blackest mascaras I’ve seen and the formulation looks nice and think. Definitely dropping this into my mascara rotation ASAP>
Initial impression: I want to go re-do my make up right now just to test this out!
My weakness is good skincare so having a good cleanser is crucial! I’ve tested out several things from First Aid Beauty so I was excited to see their Face Cleanser. This cleanser is supposed to refresh, take off your make up, and clean our your pores without leaving your skin feeling tight. It’s a whipped formula that is supposed to work for all skin types.
It’s fragrance free which I love when it comes to skin care! It’s a very nice thick formula and feels like it will really do the job with getting dirt and grime off your face. I’m always interested to see how well cleansers remove make up and this one seems promising!
Initial impression: Is it time to wash my face yet?!
First Aid Beauty Facial Cleanser is $20.00
Lastly, as much as I love testing out new products, I LOVE getting beauty tools in my Ipsy bags! This month I got the Precision Shader Onyx Brush 239 from Luxie Beauty. I have several different types of brushes from Luxie all of which I’ve received from Ipsy and I really, really like them! Out of the ones I’ve received, their shadow brushes are definitely my favorite so I was really excited to play with this. This is an angled brush that is supposed to evenly blend shadows into your crease and has synthetic bristles.
The quality of the brush is really nice. The onyx handle has a nice texture that allows for a good grip and the bristles are very soft. The bristles are not packed super tight so it looks like you can use this brush to blend easily as well as still be able to pack on color.
Initial impression: No shade here! Adding to my make up routine tomorrow!
Overall, I’m very happy with this months Ipsy bag and can’t wait to really give these products a test run! Keep checking back to see if any of these products make it into my monthly favorites or empties posts!

As the holidays are quickly approaching, I have one and only one shopping secret…
So what is Ebates.com? Ebates.com is a website that offers rebates when you purchase from various online retailers. For the longest time I thought it was some gimmicky to good to be true website that sends you a million emails and takes time to actually be beneficial. The truth…it’s incredibly easy and beneficial as soon as you start using it! It’s officially the only way I do any type of online shopping and I’m kicking myself for not figuring it out sooner!
How does it work? So you sign up with Ebates.com. You fill out the normal account information and boom…you’re ready to go. Take it one step further and install the Ebates tool bar to your browser and 99% of the guess work is done for you. The tool bar feature will activate for any online store you visit that is contracted with Ebates. Ebates notifies you of any potential rebates. Also, if there are any coupon codes that are active on the website, Ebates will scan through your cart and apply any applicable codes to your cart!
Once you’ve conducted all your shopping, just simply complete your purchase and Ebates does the rest! Your rebate will automatically be applied to your Ebates account and once the cycle closes out, they send you a check for your rebates..YES a real life check! Or you can opt to have the payment sent to your PayPal account or sent to someone else. Payments are sent 4 times a year, May, August, November, and February. You have to have a minimum of $5.00 in rebates in order to receive you payment. If you do not have $5.00 in your rebate account, the balance will continue to roll over and will pay out once you have accumulated $5.00.
So what’s the catch? Seriously…no catch! Ebates has tons of different stores and tons of different rebate percentages. The retailers pay Ebates a commission for sending customers to their stores and Ebates then splits the commission with you. The percentage varies from store to store and can also vary daily. I have received rebates as small as 1% and as high as 12%. Even at 1%, if you are an avid online shopper like me, it adds up quickly. There is also a referral program where you received $25.00 per person that signs up through your referral and they will receive $10.00. In less that two months, I’ve received almost $30.00 is rebates that I have deposited straight back into my bank account. Ebates.com is the first thing I consult when doing any and all online shopping.

Alright folks, here we go! I’m doing something I’ve always wanted to do but have never had the courage to pursue. I’m officially throwing caution to the wind and taking some chances.
So blogging…what does that mean? Is anyone even going to care about my thoughts, stories, or opinions? Who knows! All I know is that I’ve lived and died by various bloggers over the past few years and thank goodness for them! I’ve purchased products, read books, tried new experiences, and self validated my own personal level of crazy through blogs.
I constantly find myself reading a blog and thinking two things:
1) I could totally do this
2) I WANT to do this!
Number two is the most important thought. To date, there are only two things that I have been truly, 100% passionate about in my life. When I say passionate, I mean things that I knew I was supposed to do with my life. Things that deep down, I knew God had created me to do.
1) Being a Wife
2) Being a mother
These two items listed above might be basic to some, but to me, they are the only things I’ve ever been certain of.
Growing up, my mom would ask my sister and me what we would want to be when we grew up. She would ask us every few years and neither one of our answers ever really deviated.
My sister knew early on that she wanted a career in mental health and has developed a very successful therapy practice (yup…I get free therapy…..daily….sometimes hourly #NoShame). Me on the other hand, I had no professional aspirations. I had no clue what I wanted to do as a career. My answer to my mom was simply that I wanted to be a wife and a mom. I’m am currently living those two passions and I am so incredibly grateful for a loving husband and a pretty awesome baby!
So whenever I find something that I truly want to do…something that I think I could be good at…I’m always taken aback. I’ll spending days, weeks, months, years telling myself all the reasons why I shouldn’t. I play out every worse case scenario and think up the craziest what if situations. I beat myself down and tell myself that I couldn’t do it and that I will fail. I’ve let a lot of opportunities and experiences pass by because I’ve stood in my own way.
Since becoming a mom, I’ve realized that I don’t want my children to have any of these thoughts, I want them to never be scared to pursue their dreams and experience life. I can only raise them to do those things if I am. So here I go! I’m about 500 miles outside of my comfort zone and taking all of you along for the ride!
*Queue crazy what if situations that I’ll be up all night thinking about but will never actually happen*
